Use An "Exit Pop" To Make More Sales

With most sales pages, if the customer decides not to buy there and then and leaves your page, chances are that they won't ever return and you have lost the sale. An exit pop is one way to try and capture the visitor before they are gone forever.

    What Is An Exit Pop?

It's basically some sort of window that alerts the potential customer not to leave. Usually, some kind of discount is offered as a last resort to try and get the attention of the prospect.

There are a number of ways to do it. In the old days, a simple pop-up was the normal way. However, most modern browsers block these because people were getting sick and tired of being bombarded in this way. Instead, there are now a variety of exit pops that will appear within the current screen, darken the background, roll into the screen etc.

    Fake Call Agent

There are also some services that provide a fake call agent to offer a discount. I'm not sure if anyone actually believes that these call agents are real but these facilities do seem to work.

The company providing the call agent will typically take a slice of the sale and that is how they make their money for providing such a service.

    Email List

Of course, exit pops are not the only way to try and catch the customer. A popular one is an email newsletter typically with an immediate freebie promised.

Sometimes this strategy is combined and you will see the free gift/newsletter offered only when the prospect leaves the site.

Ultimately, you need to test all variations to see which is the most profitable.
