Even when we think we are being logical, we are normally simply trying to justify what our emotions tell us. If humans were logical then the entire global financial crisis would never have happened. People would have been less greedy and would have taken less risks. This means that if we are selling something, we can tap into these undeniable human emotions. Benefits Not Features It is well known in marketing circles that you do not get someone to buy by telling them about features. You give them examples of how they will benefit instead. For example, if you are selling a computer, you can bury the specifications at the bottom of the ad where those who are clued up can examine them. But most of your ad should be about the powerful benefits such as"Great Value", "Perfect For All The Family" etc. |
